The Joker is a criminal mastermind and one of the most infamous supervillains in the DC Comics universe. He is the arch-nemesis of Batman and appears in comic books, films and TV series. Known for his painted red smile, wild green hair and purple suit, he is a resident of Gotham City. Actors such as Jack Nicholson and Heath Ledger have portrayed this character in movies like Batman Begins (2005), Brave and Bold (2008), The Dark Knight (2008) and Suicide Squad (2016).
